畫面看起來夠炫了，不過我還沒測試游戲性如何。
這游戲是最先在 Windows 上開發的，所以官方網站目前只有 Windows 的執行檔，不過以經有熱心(熱血？)人士幫忙移植到 Linux 了。

我想很多目前人都習慣了文字界面的裝法，而且 Gentoo 文件寫的相當清楚，其實安裝難度並不高。不過我對 Gentoo GUI 的推出還是給于高度的肯定，必竟目前 Gentoo 還是一個小眾的 distro (1)，如果 Gentoo Foundation 要繼續下去，它必需要有更多人們對它的接收度，其中降低安裝的難度是重要的第一步驟，才不會讓人覺的這是 1337 才會去用的 distro。一旦接收度提高才會有更多資金捐贈的機會。

而且 GUI 的 install 還是有好處，如果你現在叫我重新裝一遍，我還是得一邊看手冊，一邊看我自己的筆記才有可能裝的起來，叫我空手裝我也辦法。也且除非你有第二台電腦，你還得必需把手冊印出來 (除非你真的是 1337)。所以Gentoo 的安裝難度真的比起它的 distro 高出一些。所以 GUI installer 還是有優點的。

不過 2005.1 還是會有文字安裝的選擇的。 :)

(其實 Gentoo GUI installer 的實作早就出現過了，有一款 distro 叫 VidaLinux (Screenshot)，可以算是 Gentoo fork 的版本，不過 Vida 的人不願意和 Gentoo developers 合作，完全沒有回饋 Gentoo，是個在 Gentoo community 鄙視(3)的套件。)(4) (5)

這兩個套件讓我整個周末過的很不爽: ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ

最近 Gentoo 的變動還真多....
剛剛才把 kernel 重新 compile 一次，gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.11-r4 已經把 inotify patch 直接加進去了，對我這種不喜歡手動 patch 的懶人很剛好。而且既然 official 把 inotify 加進去應該就有一定的穩定度了...

既然有 inotify，就要正確的使用它的威力嘍！ ^^
第一步就是把老舊的 fam 還掉！
不過既然有 inotify，不知道為什麼 official 不把 gamin 放到 stable....(Fedora 早就直接用 gamin 嘍！)
對我這種不太喜歡用 ~x86 的人有點小不爽...
anyway.... 我還是給它用了！ XD

rc-update del famd default
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge gamin
gamin 是 user space 的，所以不必以 init script 來起動，emerge 完就可以直接用了！^^
我現在略用的感覺是比 fam 好很多，在 nautilus 下開檔案比 fam 快，而且不會像以前 fam 會讓硬碟吱吱叫，穩定很多。

下一步，Beagle！又要用更多的 ~x86 了！(~抖)

Xming 是一個 Windows 版的 x-server 就跟 cygwin 附的 x-sever 一樣。 不過它小很多，安裝檔也只有 9.1MB + 一些字型檔，不像 cygwin 必須裝一堆有的沒的，設訂也複雜。xming 幾乎不必設定。如果你只需要 remote X，xming 是不錯的選擇。 以下是我剛剛是成功的例子： 畫面前端是 Linux 上的 Epiphany，後面的是 Windows 上的 Firefox。 這是我剛剛隨便 Google 找來的使用步驟： 1. 安裝好 xming！ :p 2. 可以的話再加裝字型檔，避免出問題。 :p 3. 這時你應該會有 xming 的捷徑，按滑鼠右鍵，在 target 裡修改：增加 -ac 這個選項 (*待會解釋 )。 4. 記得設定你的 Windows 防火牆，讓你的 Linux 主機可以和 Windows 溝通。 5. 打開 putty，在 Tunnel裡把 X11 forwarding 勾選。 6. 連線到 Linux 主機，在 console 下輸入: export DISPLAY="Your.IP.Address.Here:0.0"。請把 Your.IP.Address.Here 換成你 Windows 的 IP address。 7. 輸入 xterm &。如果在 Windows 下看到 xterm 就表示成功了！ ^_^ *其實應該是不用(?) -ac 這個選項，似乎也不太建議使用這個選項(?)，不過我現在還搞不太清楚狀況，每次我連到 Windows，Linux 的 console 就會出現 Xlib: No protocol specified 的錯誤訊息。如果你知道解答，歡迎提供訊息！ ^^ 你也個以對 xming 做其它設定，例如你可以在 xming 的捷徑裡把 -multiwindow 移除，這樣你的 xming 就會變成視窗模式。還有其他設定就請你自己看文件嘍！ 參考文獻: http://planet.arslinux.com/ http://www.ipaterson.ca/writings/technical/remote.x.steps.html http://www.uky.edu/ComputingCenter/SSTARS/cctest_info/connecting_to_cctest_using_putty.htm

Window Behaviour
GNOME 2.10 has a new ability that you might not notice at first, implementing another cross-desktop Freedesktop.org standard.
In the past, while typing something into one application when suddenly your instant messenger offered a chat request from your friend, your words would be typed into the chat window. Imagine if you were typing your password at the time. This should no longer happen in GNOME 2.10.
In addition, if an application takes a long time to start, your work will not be interrupted when it finally opens its window.

GNOME 2.10 使用者無法改變 Menu (Menu editing) ，因為現在 GNOME application menu 還到 freedesktop.org 的格式。就跟 GNOME 2.6 一樣無法 MIME editing。Menu editing 還沒完成，所以只好等下個 release 吧，也就是還要等六個月。 如果要 Gentoo stable 版 + 兩個月。 orz

我用的是 totem 0.100-r2。
不過也可以把它當作 "偽" 1.0 啦~ (逃~~)

Totem 已經 1.0 stable 了。不過 Gstreamer 還是不太好用，檔案很多都不能看。還是用 Xine 當作後端 player 還是比較好。1.0 用 xine 比較炫的功能就是可以在 nautilus 看到支援的影片格式的縮圖，滿不錯的!
